I am excited to announce the debut of my bi-monthly blog today! Over the last 13 years of being involved in real estate, I have gained a great deal of knowledge through experience and from fellow agents, lawyers, mortgage brokers, homeowners, buyers, contractors, and inspectors. My clients, both past and present, seek answers to so many important questions: How do I know when I’ve found the right house? What will make this house most appealing to a potential buyer? What type of mortgage will suit my needs? Will this renovation increase the value of my property? The goal of my blog is to answer some of these burning questions and to provide some insight into the real estate industry.

I moved to the United States thirty years ago from England (yes, my British accent is still alive and kicking after all of these years in case you’re wondering) and met my partner in crime in New York City.  In 2001, we moved to beautiful Orange County, New York.  Surrounded by “handy” friends and family members who were in the business of buying and renovating homes, I have always been interested in real estate. In fact, every house that I have purchased would fall into the “fixer-upper” category because I enjoy the creativity and elbow grease that goes into turning an ugly duckling into a beautiful swan.

I love being a real estate agent because every day is an adventure and each situation is unique. My schedule changes day in and day out and I enjoy meeting people from all different walks of life. The housing market has always been unpredictable, but one constant remains: the challenge associated with buying and selling real estate. Buying a home is one of the most meaningful and expensive purchases that a person will make in his or her lifetime, and I find great pleasure in helping my clients through such a monumental, life-changing event.

Real estate can be daunting, yet exciting. Nothing would please me more than to make the buying and selling process a little less intimidating for some of you out there by sharing information that I have learned from experts in the field and through my own experiences. Stay tuned for future blog posts which will feature helpful tips for buyers and sellers.
